Why Your Summer Electric Bill Spiked: HVAC Causes

If your electric bill jumped this summer, your AC is probably the biggest culprit. Here's how to figure out why and what to do about it in Indianapolis.

If your house was built before 2000, chances are your ductwork runs through a basement, crawlspace, or attic. Ducts in those unconditioned spaces often leak. A 10-year-old unit with clean coils, good ductwork, and proper refrigerant can still be efficient enough. The problem is when it's 10 years old and everything else is neglected.
